History

Gokuraku-ji serves as a sanctuary for those with faith in Amida Buddha's Pure Land. Pilgrims are embraced by the Buddha's infinite light, guided from this world of suffering toward the Pure Land of Bliss. The ancient Pure Land faith flows eternally through these halls. I have watched over countless souls' aspirations for blessed rebirth within these sacred walls.
