History

Tajihayahime Jinja is located in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, and is listed in the Engishiki Jimmyocho as a shikinaisha of Izumi Province, Otori District. The shrine is also known as Kozen no Miya. The principal deity, Tajihayahime no Mikoto, has been venerated since ancient times as a local guardian deity. The surrounding area has been developed as Areyama Park, making it a place enjoyed by both worshippers and visitors. The shrine preserves the atmosphere of an ancient Izumi Province shrine to this day.
