History
Tanjoin is a sacred place said to be the birthplace of Kobo Daishi Kukai. As an ancient temple of the Shingon sect, it has long been cherished by many believers. Faith in "Daishi-sama" is particularly devout, and numerous visitors from within and beyond the prefecture come seeking blessings for warding off misfortune and healing from illness. On the 21st of each month, a lively market fair is held, making it a gathering place for community exchange. In the quiet temple grounds, clasping hands can bring peace of mind and renewed vitality.
