History
Tanabata Jinja is an ancient shrine enshrined in Karakuni-cho, Nara. True to its name as Tanabata (the weaver), it is cherished as the deity of weaving and has deep connections to Tanabata (Star Festival) faith. Since ancient times, it has been worshipped by those wishing for improvement in hand-weaving and sewing techniques, and is known particularly for its many female worshippers.
