From the high ground of Terakoji, Kurodahara Shrine has watched over the Nasu highlands since ancient times. The dignified presence of this shrine has been reflected in all the mountains I have climbed as a white fox. Here dwell the power of ancient gods and the pure essence of the mountains, lighting the path for travelers and bestowing safety upon all who pass.
