History

Byakko

Ono Jinja is enshrined in Ichinomiya in Tama City and is also called the First Shrine of Musashi Province, a shrine of high standing. Its history is very ancient, and it has been revered for many generations as one of the most auspicious shrines in this region. The place name Ichinomiya itself derives from the fact that this shrine was the First Shrine of the province. As the cultural and historical center of the Tama region, it has gathered people's faith since ancient times and watched over the area's development. Today, it is loved by both longtime and new residents alongside the development of Tama New Town, a wonderful shrine that cherishes tradition while adapting to new times.
