History

Kodaira Shinmeigū is enshrined in Ogawa-chō in Kodaira City. Shinmeigū shrines enshrine Amaterasu Ōmikami, the principal deity of Ise Jingū, and are considered the spiritual homeland of the Japanese people. The Kodaira area is blessed with the rich nature of the Musashino plateau, and people have made their homes here since ancient times. This Shinmeigū has been carefully maintained by local residents as a place to offer daily gratitude and prayers. As suggested by the place name Ogawa-chō, it sits in a beautiful land where clear water flows, and surely the kami must be pleased.
