History
The Katori Jinja enshrined in Kameari is a shrine dedicated to Amatsu-Minakanushi no Kami, a deity renowned as a god of war. Katori Shrines, with Katori Jingū as their head shrine, are numerous throughout the Kanto region, and this Kameari Katori Jinja has long been cherished by local residents. The place name Kameari is said to have derived from "Kame-nashi," and the region is blessed with water and fertile land. Through the protection of this war deity, the shrine has granted people the strength and courage to overcome hardship and has continued to guard the peace of the community.
