History
Tsutsaki Shinmei Sha is located in the center of Tsutsaki port in Akita city and is cherished as the guardian deity of the port town. It enshrines Amaterasu Omikami, the principal deity of Ise Jingu, and watches over the safety of the sea and the prosperity of the port. In particular, fishermen and sailors hold deep faith in this shrine, and many visitors come to pray for safe voyages and abundant catches. It plays an important role in the Tsutsaki Hikiyama Festival and continues to be beloved by local people as a shrine that supports the region's culture and traditions.
