Meiji-ji

Located in Numabukuro, Nakano, Tokyo, Meijiji is a temple of the Shingon Toji sect with the mountain name Shin-Fudaraku-san and the cloister name Seson-in. It was formally established on December 17, 1912, with Kusano Eisha as its founding patron and Matsuda Misshin as its opening abbot. The grounds feature one hundred Kannon statues, a portion of which has been lent to the ward and opened to the public as Hyaku Kannon Park. The principal deity is the Nyoirin Kanzeon Bosatsu, a Bodhisattva believed to grant all manner of merit in response to the prayers of devotees. This quiet sacred ground has long been cherished by the local community.
