Joruri-ji is the forty-sixth temple of the Shikoku Eighty-Eight Temples pilgrimage route, located in Joruricho, Matsuyama. It belongs to the Buzan branch of Shingon Buddhism, with the mountain name Iozazan and the hall name Yojuin. The principal deity is Yakushi Nyorai (the Medicine Buddha), and the temple has long been revered as a sacred site for healing illness. Associated with Kobo Daishi Kukai, it continues to receive a steady stream of pilgrims. True to its mountain name meaning "healing mountain," it is believed that Yakushi Nyorai grants relief from physical ailments and mental suffering. The temple grounds bloom with seasonal flowers including cherry blossoms, lotus, peonies, and hydrangeas throughout the year.
