Keiryu-ji is a temple of the Shingon Buzan sect in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, widely known by its popular name "Izumi Kosodatekannon" (Child-Rearing Kannon of Izumi). It was founded in 1618 by the monk Keiryu, who was travelling east carrying a Kannon statue attributed to Kobo Daishi. When heavy rain prevented him from crossing the Sakuragawa River, the Kannon guided him safely across, and he established this temple at that spot. During the Edo period, it became a prayer hall for Tsuchiura domain lord Tsuchiya Masanao, who donated the main gate.
