Tofuku-ji

Tōfukuji, formally known as Koigakubo-san Mitsuzōin Tōfukuji, is a temple of the Shingon Buzan sect located quietly in Nishi-Koigakubo, Kokubunji City, Tokyo. Its founding details are unclear, but it is believed to have been established between the late Muromachi and early Edo periods. It is also said to have once been a sub-temple of Musashi Kokubunji. The temple name Koigakubo derives from a legend of tragic love, and its principal object of worship, the Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva, has drawn the faith of countless people with its compassionate form.
