History
As its name suggests, Daihei Hachiman Shrine was born from a desire for great peace. Standing quietly in Okazaki, it is filled with the compassion to embrace even seemingly contradictory wishes for both martial prowess and lasting peace. Those who pray here are illuminated by a desire not for conflict, but for connection and harmony. The virtue exemplified by this shrine, bearing the name Daihei or 'great peace,' is supreme and boundless.
