History

Byakko

Taiyuji is an ancient temple of the Shingon school founded by Kobo Daishi Kukai. While situated in Osaka's busy commercial district, it maintains a serene space that makes one forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Within the grounds stand the Daishi Hall and Main Hall, and faith in Kobo Daishi is particularly strong, with many devotees visiting on the 21st of each month for the regular festival day. It is also known to house the grave of Yodo-dono, and is a temple that conveys the weight of history. While located in the heart of the city, it continues to be cherished as a place of spiritual refuge for those seeking peace of mind.
