Oshio Tenmangu, located in Yamato-Koriyama, is a Tenmangu shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of scholarship. Michizane was a distinguished scholar and statesman of the Heian period. This shrine has been carefully preserved by local people across generations, who have prayed for academic success and the healthy development of children. During examination season, many students and parents visit to pray for passing exams, and when the plum blossoms bloom, beautiful scenes honoring Michizane unfold. As a warm-hearted Tenmangu shrine rooted in the community, it continues to be loved by many.
