Sarashina Jinja is an ancient shrine located at the foot of Mount Sarashina in Toyoda City, enshrining the twin imperial princes Oousu no Mikoto and Ousu no Mikoto. In particular, Oousu no Mikoto is said to have passed away on Mount Sarashina, making this place sacred ground. Since ancient times, it has been regarded as the Ichinomiya of Mikawa Province and has received devoted worship from samurai as a deity of military fortune and protection from calamities. Surrounded by the rich natural beauty of Mount Sarashina, the shrine grounds are truly worthy of being called sacred space, allowing visitors to offer prayers with a clear and refreshed spirit.
