Sanbutsu-ji is an ancient temple quietly situated in Asahi-ku, Yokohama. When I visited, time flowed peacefully. This temple has long attracted the faith of many people and is particularly known as a place for academic success and prayers for passing exams. Within the precincts, a quiet space that evokes a sense of history spreads out, allowing for peaceful worship. The principal image of Buddha is said to be compassionate and to listen to the wishes of visitors. I also cleanse my mind for a while in this tranquility. It is a charming temple that retains the atmosphere of good old days.
