Ochiai Hakusan Shrine is located in Ochiai, Tama City, Tokyo, and holds the former rank of village shrine (sonsha). It has long served as the guardian deity of the Ochiai district. The principal deity is Kukurihime no Mikoto (Shirayama-hime no Kami), known for blessings of good matches and childbearing. With the development of Tama New Town, the shrine was relocated to its current site in 1976 (Showa 51), and a new shrine building was constructed. This relocation was a symbolic event preserving traditional faith through a period of major regional transformation. Today it continues to serve as the local tutelary shrine, with parishioners gathering at the annual festival to pray for good harvests, household safety, and fortunate marriages.
