History

Byakko

Yaho Tenmangu is known as the oldest Tenmangu shrine in the Kanto region. Enshrining Sugawara Michizane, it has been deeply revered as the deity of learning since the Heian period. The grounds, surrounded by the natural beauty of Kunitachi, display the changing colors of the four seasons, bringing peace to the hearts of visitors. Particularly during plum blossom season, magnificent flowers bloom in a landscape befitting remembrance of Michizane. It is a steadfast ally not only to students and examination candidates wishing for academic success, but to all who seek to receive wisdom.
