Saikoji Temple, formally known as Shōten-gū Saikoji, is a temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect located in Minoo Park, Minoo City, Osaka Prefecture. Beloved by locals as 'the Shōten-san of Minoo,' the temple's origins are traced to the Hakuchi era (650 CE), when the ascetic En-no-Gyōja received a divine message during his austerities on Mount Minoo and carved a Senju Kannon (Thousand-Armed Kannon) statue, establishing a hermitage at the site. The temple flourished as a sacred ground of Shugendo practice, and in the Heian period became a temple built by imperial vow under Emperor Daigo. It is also known as the 'Temple of Kintarō,' owing to the legend that Sakata no Kintoki (Kintarō) trained there in his youth. Today, the main object of worship is Daishō Kangiten (Shōten, the Holy Deva of Joy), and the temple draws many visitors seeking blessings for business prosperity and good relationships.
