Ryokan-ji

Ryokanji is a Shingon (Buzan) sect temple in Shibamata, Katsushika, Tokyo, formally known as Iozansan Yakushiin Ryokanji. It serves as the 29th temple of the Shin-Shikoku Kakuryo 88 Sacred Sites pilgrimage and is also known as the Hodo-son (Hotei deity) of the Shibamata Seven Lucky Gods. The principal deity is Yakushi Nyorai (the Healing Buddha). Said to have been established in the early Edo period, it stands near the famous Shibamata Taishakuten and has long been a place of faith for local residents. Ancient koshin-to stone monuments from the Edo period remain on the grounds.
