Yorimasa Shrine in Koga, Ibaraki Prefecture, is dedicated to Minamoto no Yorimasa, preserving his martial legacy. The shrine was originally located at the southern tip of Koga Castle at Tachisakikuruwa, also known as Yorimasa Kuruwa. Due to river improvement works on the Watarase River, it was relocated in 1912 (Taisho 1) to the northern end of Koga Castle at its current site. Its former social rank was village shrine (sonsha). The shrine has been faithfully maintained by local people, and visitors continue to come seeking the divine virtue of martial prowess.
