History
Horikiri Tenso Jinja is a shrine enshrined in Horikiri, Katsushika Ward. As a Tenso Jinja, it enshrines Amaterasu Ōmikami and has long been a source of spiritual support for the local people. In the Shitamachi atmosphere-rich town of Horikiri, this shrine has been cherished by residents since ancient times. During festival season, the entire community comes alive with festivity, and one can witness the wonderful sight of the deep bonds between the deity and the people. It is a shrine with a commoner-friendly and warm atmosphere.
