Shokaiji Temple

Shokaiji Temple in Inazawa, Aichi Prefecture is a temple of the Shingon Chisan school. Its principal image is the Zenkoji-style Amida Triad (Amitabha and two attendant bodhisattvas). Quietly rooted in the land of Inazawa, the temple is known as a place where the esoteric teachings of Shingon and the compassion of Amitabha intersect in a unique way. The lamp of Shingon Buddhist practice has been passed down without interruption, offering prayers alongside the people of the region for generations.
