Atsuhitakahiko Shrine is located in Kakuda City, Miyagi Prefecture. As a Shikinaisha (shrine listed in the Engishiki) and the Sosha of Igu District, it has long been the central object of worship for the people of the district. Situated on the fertile land along the Abukuma River, it was ranked as a go-sha (village group shrine) under the old shrine ranking system. The principal deities are Atsuhitakahiko-Honiniginomikoto and Yamato Takeru no Mikoto, and the shrine is notable for protecting both agricultural prosperity and martial valor. The spring festival on April 6th brings the local community together in prayers that have continued since ancient times.
