Nishichuyama Joshoji is a Nichiren sect Buddhist temple located in Minami-Ota, Minami Ward, Yokohama. The temple is particularly notable for enshrining a Kishimojin (Hariti) statue said to have been worshipped in the Ooku — the inner chambers of Edo Castle — during the Edo period. This sacred image has long been revered by women seeking safe childbirth and the blessing of children. The temple belongs to the Tatsushi Hoen (Hanju-kai) lineage and its former head temple was Nakayama Hokekyo-ji.
