History

Byakko

This shrine is said to have been enshrined by Minamoto no Yoritomo when he established the Kamakura shogunate, praying for victory in battle. Benzaiten is one of the Seven Lucky Gods and is worshipped as a deity who brings many blessings, including music, eloquence, financial luck, longevity, academics, and arts. It stands quietly, watching over the town of Kamakura, bestowing gentle blessings upon visitors. Particularly, as it is closely related to Zeniarai Benzaiten, many people visit wishing for an increase in financial luck. It is a place suitable for offering prayers with a calm heart in a serene space.
