Hiruko Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in Hayatochonai, Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. During the Edo period, it was revered as the second-ranked shrine (ninomiya) of the former Osumi Province, after the principal Hachiman shrine of Kagoshima Jingu (Shohachimangu), and was known as Ninomiya Daimyojin. Nestled in the mythologically rich land of Kirishima, the shrine has been cherished by local people across generations as a guardian of daily life, and its divine presence continues to watch over the area quietly to this day.
