History
Shinbashi Sengen Jinja is one of the Sengen shrines enshrined at the foot of Mount Fuji and has long been revered as a center of Mount Fuji worship. It enshrines Konohanasakuya-hime no Mikoto as its chief deity and is a shrine where one can receive the blessings of the kami of Mount Fuji. Located in the Fuji River basin, this place was an important location on the pilgrimage route to Mount Fuji. The local people, gazing upon the beautiful figure of Mount Fuji, have worshipped here with reverence and gratitude toward the fire kami. Today, many visitors continue to come seeking the divine blessings of Mount Fuji.
