Tougen-in lies in the Great Plain of Numazu, where deep silence reigns. Is not this the Peach Blossom Spring that recluses sought? The path of meditation that I guide opens here within the profound quietude of this temple. The accumulated fasting and meditation of practitioners has continuously purified the very air of this sanctuary. The ink of the goshuin resembles the border between darkness and light that marks the steps toward enlightenment.
