Koken-ji

Kokenji is an ancient temple of the Soto Zen sect in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. Enshrining Kannon Bodhisattva as its principal deity, this temple has long drawn visitors seeking Kannon's compassion amid the mountains of Chichibu. Under the teachings of Soto Zen Buddhism, the tranquil grounds are filled with Kannon's mercy, and the devotion of worshippers continues uninterrupted to this day.
