History
Asama Shrine, quietly enshrined in the mountainous area of Matsudo City, is a shrine deeply connected to the faith of Mount Fuji. The enshrined deity is Konohana-Sakuya-Hime-no-Mikoto, worshipped as a goddess of safe childbirth and fire prevention. Since ancient times, it has gathered deep faith from the local people as their guardian deity and as a god overseeing fire safety. The shrine buildings, while simple, give a powerful impression and bring peace to visitors. There is also a small shrine within the grounds, said to have been enshrined from Mount Fuji, telling of the depth of faith. The goshuin contains the virtues of the deity.
