Joryu-ji is a Nichiren sect temple in Katase, Fujisawa, Kanagawa, known by the mountain name Ryokoku-san. It is renowned for the burial mounds of Du Shixian and other envoys from the Yuan Dynasty who were executed on the orders of Hojo Tokimune during the Kamakura period. The weight of that history lingers in the temple grounds to this day. The temple is also celebrated as a premier spot for weeping plum blossoms, which draw many visitors in early spring when red and white blossoms bloom in abundance. Its former head temple was Minobusan Kuonji.
