Nonomiya Shrine

This ancient shrine, known as Nonomiya—the shrine of the fields—appears in historical records as a symbol of purity and sacred cleansing. Standing in Matsumoto, it has continuously radiated purifying power and the banishment of malevolent spirits throughout the ages. Those engaged in sacred rites have visited here repeatedly, and its solemn ceremonies continue to be transmitted to the present day. Even this fox has stood before this shrine to purify itself; its sanctity is utterly unparalleled.
