Ryuzo-ji is an ancient temple of the Shingon Omuro sect, situated on the slopes of Takiyama in Yoshiki, Yamaguchi City. It serves as the 17th sacred site of the Chugoku Thirty-Three Kannon Pilgrimage, drawing pilgrims who have walked its paths for centuries. Within the precinct stands a magnificent ginkgo tree designated as a National Natural Monument, its towering presence leaving all visitors in awe. The temple is also celebrated as one of the finest spots for autumn foliage, as the hillside blazes with color each fall. Amid the pure natural surroundings of Takiyama, this venerable temple has accumulated more than a millennium of history.
