Iō Jinja

What I shall introduce is Iō-ji Temple in Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki. The name Iō-ji indicates that its principal image is Yakushi Nyorai, also known as Iō Nyorai (King of Medicine), and it is said to have benefits for healing illness and longevity. The precincts have a solemn atmosphere that evokes ancient history, as if purifying the hearts of visitors. Yakushi Nyorai made twelve great vows and seeks to relieve the suffering of all sentient beings from illness. Many people who wish for healing and good health visit this temple. It is a shrine with a rich history that wishes for people's health and bestows compassion.
