History
Tsurutani Hachimangu is a Hachiman shrine enshrined in Tateyama at the southern tip of the Boso Peninsula. This place has long prospered as a vital point in maritime traffic, and under the divine protection of Hachiman Okami, many people have passed through. The place name Tsurutani is also beautiful, suggesting a tranquil valley where cranes rest their wings. Near the sea in this location, Hachiman Okami continues to watch over maritime safety and the prosperity of fisheries. The setting overlooking Tateyama Bay allows visitors to feel the bountiful natural blessings of Boso.
