Soryun-ji, known as an ancient temple of the Rinzai Zen sect, is believed to have been founded around the Bunmei era (1469-1487) of the Muromachi period. Situated in a quiet area of Ube, this temple has long served as a spiritual support for the local community. As one of the oldest Zen temples in Yamaguchi Prefecture, many monks have practiced here and devoted themselves to teaching the community. Today, it continues to cherish the teachings of Zen, bringing peace of mind to its visitors.
