Gotemba Sengen Jinja is a shrine located at Gotemba on the eastern foot of Mount Fuji, and has prospered as an important center of Mount Fuji faith. It enshrines Konohanasakuya-hime no Mikoto, and has brought the blessings of the mountain deity to the region. Since the time when the Tokugawa shogunate maintained a palace here, which gave rise to the name Gotemba, this shrine has continued to watch over the area. In this place with a clear view of Mount Fuji, people have offered gratitude and prayers to the mountain deity, wishing for abundant blessings. Today, as a shrine at the foot of Mount Fuji, it remains beloved by many.
