History
A temple overlooking the seas of Awaji, Kaifukuji has received the prayers of ancient mariners and is venerated as a Buddha bringing safe passage and abundant harvests. It has been the spiritual anchor of seafaring people, and continues to watch over the safe voyages of all who venture upon the waters.
