History
Ii Jinja is an ancient shrine listed in the Engishiki, located in Iinoya, Inasa-cho, Hamana Ward, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka. Ranked as a go-sha under the old shrine rating system, the shrine name derives from the Iinoya River that flows through the area. As the guardian deity of Inasa, known as the birthplace of the Ii clan, it has been deeply revered by local residents since antiquity. During the Sengoku period, warriors of the Ii clan are said to have visited to pray for military fortune. Nestled in lush natural surroundings, it continues to welcome many worshippers who come to offer quiet prayers.
