History

Byakko

This Iinuma-san Enpuku-ji, which I have visited, is known as one of Japan's three great exorcism sacred sites. It is said to have been founded in the Heian period, making it an ancient temple with a long history. Its principal image is Kannon Bodhisattva with eleven faces, which has received prayers for exorcism and good fortune from many people. The temple grounds are spacious, surrounded by lush trees, creating a quiet and serene atmosphere. In particular, the five-storied pagoda towering within the grounds is beautiful and captivates the hearts of visitors. It is a cherished place where history and faith breathe.
