History
This ancient shrine is enshrined on the cape at Susaki at the southernmost tip of the Boso Peninsula. As a shrine listed in the Awa province register, it has long been revered as the guardian deity of the sea. One of Boso Peninsula's representative shrines, it is particularly known as the deity of safe voyages and has gathered the deep faith of fishermen and sailors. The spectacular view of Tokyo Bay from the high plateau of the cape is also wonderful, and it is a sacred site of miraculous spiritual efficacy that welcomes numerous pilgrims.
