Shibi Shrine is located in Shibi, Satsuma Town, Kagoshima Prefecture. Formerly known as Shibiyama Sansho Gongen, it was venerated as the general shrine of the seven Kedoin villages and the chief guardian shrine of northern Satsuma. It is listed as a former prefectural shrine and is considered a candidate for national historical shrines. Founded in 708 CE according to shrine records. The principal deities are Izanagi-no-Mikoto and Izanami-no-Mikoto, revered for matchmaking and family prosperity. Notably, the source spring of Shibi Onsen wells up beneath the worship hall, known as the divine hot spring.
