History
Kanzeон-ji in Dazaifu is said to have been founded by the vow of Emperor Tenchi. It has carved a long history as the center of Buddhist culture in Kyushu. Once an important temple that oversaw Buddhist affairs throughout Kyushu, it was a place where many monks devoted themselves to practice and Buddhist culture flourished. Through the merciful protection of Kannon, it has saved many people from their suffering. Even today, worshippers seeking peace of mind and good health continue to visit.
