History

Byakko

Kakidagawa Yusui Kifune Jinja is enshrined on the banks of the pristine spring waters of the Kakidagawa River, one of Japan's three major clear streams, a sacred shrine of exceptional purity. Kifune Jinja is famous as a shrine devoted to the water deity, but this location is particularly special as it is built at a miraculous site where subterranean spring water from Mount Fuji wells up from the earth. With hundreds of thousands of tons of pure water surging forth daily, this place is indeed a fitting residence for the water deity. Simply observing the crystal-clear flowing water purifies the spirit, and gratitude for the blessings of water, the source of all life, naturally arises.
