Myojunji Temple, popularly known as Hoshishita Myojunji, is a head temple of the Nichiren sect located in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Its mountain name is Myojuzan and its principal object of worship is the Ittauson. Founded in 1274 (Bun'ei 11) by monk Nichizen, with Honma Shigetsura as its lay founder, it holds a long history in this region. Known for its benefits in child-rearing, matchmaking, and academic achievement, it is especially revered by younger generations and families. Though the grounds are modest, they are enveloped in warmth, making it a fitting place for quiet daily prayers.
