History

Byakko

Shinbashi Sengen Jinja is a branch shrine dedicated to the worship of Mount Fuji and its sacred deity. Located in the foothills visible from Gotemba, the shrine has stood for centuries as a protector of the region. The enshrined goddess Sengen is known as the pacifier of volcanoes and the giver of earth's abundance. The approach path offers views of Fuji's transformation across the seasons—spring cherry blossoms, summer greenery, autumn crimson leaves, winter snow. These natural changes mirror the seasons of human life, and the shrine's blessings support both new endeavors and the continuation of traditions passed down through generations.
