Daichūji

Daichūji is a temple of the Rinzai Myōshinji sect located in Numazu, Shizuoka. With the mountain name Sawadasan and principal deity Fudō Myōō, the temple is well known as a celebrated plum blossom site. When spring arrives, the fragrance of white plum blossoms fills the precincts, drawing visitors who seek both spiritual solace and natural beauty. The temple also organized the Suruga Plum Blossom Literature Award, reflecting its deep connection with literary culture. Embraced by the clean Zen spirit, Daichūji has quietly received the prayers of worshippers through the ages.
